Wooden House: roof eaves and balcony
See previous post on the fast building of this wooden house in Umbertide, Umbria. This is a truly ecological, highly efficient, energy-saving new architecture in Umbria. The eaves and the triangular balcony on the first floor are in X-lam, the same structure as the walls, but used horizontally. The same could be used in the internal floor and roof if one prefers a more ‘modern’, flat, but textured, ceiling. The round metal columns are made of galvanized steel and support the deep over hang of the roof on the west side. Part of the exterior facade is cladded with timber slalts (in natural larch) simply screwd on the vertical structure.
