Architect: Umbria – wooden house outside Umbertide
I’m currently working as the project architect on a wooden house in Umbria, near Umbertide. It is amazingly quick to build, it is ecological and, more importantly, it is highly efficient in terms of energy saving. The thick wood-fiber insulation, together with its solid wood structure, will guarantee that the building will fall within class energy ”B” (in a scale from “A” to “F”, where “A” is the top in terms of energy saving). The foundations are built traditionally, in reinforced concrete. Then the prefab wooden panels are assembled on site in just 5 days. The contractor is Service Legno Due S.r.l. (www.servicelegno.it), a young and dynamic firm with a great knowledge of timber construction. I’ll keep you posted on the progress.
